The american news agencies have reported that the Boeing has test fired an 60Kw laser gun on the apache attack helicopters in a first kind of such move that could push the future warfares, the system was tested at the white sand missile range.
The recent report about the LM testing a 60kw optical laser was made an amuse among the defence experts around the globe. Now the Boeing has successfully tested the raytheon made laser weapon or the high energy laser HEL mounted on the Apache.
The raytheon press release has quoted some technical details about the test. the number of systems the tesh has performed is as shown in the images. The report has stated that the test provided all the primary and the secondary goals that were set by them. they aslo said it provided the evidence for the feasability for the high resolution multi band targetting sensor performance and beam propagation supportive of High energy laser capability for the rotary wing aircraft. the report also stated that the tracking and targeting were done on different types of targets. by targeting and directing the energy on them. The report also stated that the data opbatiained will shape the future of the HEL weapones.
