Today as i said earlier i will brief you guys regarding the 2G spectrum case and the role of Subramanian Swamy in the case.
The 2G Spectrum case was an alleged scam under the united progressive alliance coalition government in india in 2010. It involved politicians, government officals and numerous big names from the corporate sector.
Subramanian Swamy wrote a letter to the prime minister Manmohan Singh to let permission to prosecute the telecom minister A. Raja in 2G spectrum case but the prime minister denied the permission. so swamy filed a private complaint in 2010 against the A. Raja regarding the 2G spectrum case. Swamy filed a case in lower court but lower court dismissed the case telling that their is no scam at all then Swamy went to supreme court.The supreme court studied swamy case and found the scam and by considering the case supreme court cancelled the licenses of 18compaanies and case was going well in supreme court. To slow down the case CBI filled charge sheet on 2nd April 2011. In 19th August 2011 replay to the CBI, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India said that the government had gained over 30billion by selling 2G spectrum.
The case got slow down because in Indian constitution if a private case and government case were filled on the same case then the government carries the further case dissolving the private case. so as result of 2G spectrum case got slow down and the case didnt completeled on time. As Swamy case was dissloved and he was made slide line from this case. It was remoured that the officers in the CBI were the peoples of P. Chidambaram so case got slow down. However, the special court in New Delhi acquitted all accused in the 2G Spectrum case including prime accused A. Raja and Kanimozhi on December 21, 2017, the verdict was based on the fact that CBI could not find any evidence against the accused in those 7 years. Per the judgement ." some people created a scam by artfully arranging a few selected facts and exaggerating things beyond recognition to astronomical levels. CBI and the Enforcement Directorate will appeal against the special court acquittal verdict in the Delhi High Court.
