The Sikkim standoff is turning into a grim battle of nerves.  While the Trajectory is on expected lines, the escalation timeline is not.  China seems to be either fast running out of patience, or wants to convey that impression to India.  Either way, the message out of Beijing is that Delhi's options are limited.  It must either accept Chinese supremacy and fall in line, orpay a jeavy price.  Three is a subtext to the message, and it reflects the larger chinese annoyance with the Narendra Modi, government.  Beijing feels that the Modi government is growing biger that its boots and its assertiveness is not underwritten by soaring economic grwoth or military supremancy as Chinas is.

The impass at the trijunchon  of  Dokla plateau in the Sikkim sector, might be an immediate spark but to China, it is an opportune issue at an time to puncture holes in Modi's tough guy image and freeze once and for all the power differential so that New Delhi may be adequately will send a larger message to the world that crossing swords against Xi Jinping's China will draw severe consequences.  The underlaying declaration is that if an aspiring major power like India can be subdued, smaller nations in the south Asian Indian ocean region should just shut their

Howeer the Tough guy Modi is not just jumping up for the chinese temtation instead he is making  a new plicy of patience where he is catiously waiting for the time to arrive, growing economy,  military modernisation plans, acqusition of sophisticated weapons which are china speciic, development of major weapons programes, which are crucial to the Indian military to fight the chinese.
Modi is also in the keen not to loose the blooming economy by going a war with the chinese immediately, if there is no option availabe, then the war is also an option in the Modi's plan, his plan and stage of thimpu only after newdelhi' fall is an big boost for the Anti China sentiment in the subcontinent.
